The Intern is Challenging
Santa Fe Students This Fall
GAINESVILLE
- Students at Santa Fe Community College are putting their leadership
skills to the test in "The Intern," a six-week competition
based off NBC's hit television show, "The Apprentice."
Beginning in September, eight contestants will vie for an internship
with Mayor Pegeen Hanrahan by completing tasks benefiting vital
organizations with the Gainesville community. Shands Children's
Hospital, St. Francis House, Habitat for Humanity and the School
Board of Alachua County are some of the organizations scheduled
to participate. Task details will remain confidential until Mayor
Hanrahan announces them each week, and one contestant will be
eliminated until the new intern is named in November. Presented
by SFCC Student Government, this exciting community event will
demonstrate SFCC students' resourcefulness, creativity and critical
thinking skills. For more information about The Intern, visit
www.theinternproject.com.
